About Us

The Calgary Car Club is a new concept in exotic & luxury car ownership that gives its members access to a changing pool of exceptional car to drive. Most of us have a list of cars we are passionate about, and gaze longingly at in the magazines and streets. However, unless you have a very close personal friend named Jay Leno… the list is long, life is short, & your garage/wallet is never big enough.

How it works

You buy a fractional interest in the car you want — from our long list. We then purchase, maintain, store & insure the car. You get four (4) weeks of driving for each ownership unit purchased per year. You actually own an interest in that car — not a time share. If you choose not to drive your allotted days we will market & manage the rentals for you.

Well, you have been asking, & asking, for a rental program so… we hope to respond and to fill the local void for exotic & luxury car rentals by offering; Ferrari, Lambourghini, Aston Martin, Porsche, Mercedes, Maserati & more exceptional marques for daily, weekly & monthly rentals.

Whether it be for your wedding day, special occasion, birthday, anniversary, reunion or corporate reward — or just a special road trip.

Sell half, or all, of your car!

Convert the value in your current exotic or luxury vehicle as an entry point into the club. We have a special conversion program to absorb your private vehicle (no lease cars) into the club pool – in exchange for some special membership benefits and, of course — the keys to the other cars in our pool. If you have a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bentley, Maserati, Porsche or other late model high-end vehicle that is sitting underappreciated in your garage, or want to “rationalize” part of your car collection? Many exotic drivers and car collectors have classic, luxury or exotic vehicles that are substantially under utilized, or they are just ready to move on. These cars may qualify to be brought into our pool.

Fund the capital costs of purchasing this car, and we will pay you a monthly rate, and/or offset your membership fees in kind. Also, see the “Fractionalize Your Car” section — as this is another ownership option where we purchase a car for several select owners’ exclusive use, & manage the vehicle for them in the same manner as other vehicles in the general club pool.

About Us

Serial entrepreneur, car guy, and Vancouver Car Club owner, Ward Stirrat, helped launch a fractional yacht ownership business on Granville Island in 2007 — a business that purchases & manages luxury yachts for a group of owners. So, it was an evolution of that business model that got him thinking of a way to get through his list of “Cars to own/drive before I die… And, what better way to start your mid-life crisis than with a little red sports car — surely a modest, but romantic, choice of “The official sports car of summer” — a pristine 1992 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce bought in California, and driven 900+ miles up the coastal highway at soul-satisfying velocities. Part way through the drive Ward started thinking “boy, I would love to do this drive again in a new Lotus Elise, …. then, again, in that 1963 Maserati convertible I saw in AutoTrader last week…” well, you can see how this whole thing got started.

The calgary car club branch is run by fellow entrepreneur and real estate specialist, Conrad Field. As an entrepreneur, Conrad immediately fell in love with the fractional ownership model when he came across the Calgary Car Club online. Conrad wasted no giving Ward a call out of the blue, and they connected right away over their passions for business, cars and much more. Conrad’s first love and passion was the iconic Lamborghini Diablo, which started when he was just 7 years old. Ever since then, he has been a Lamborghini man (his current dream car is the Aventador, but he’ll probably tell you “hey, really any V12 Lamborghini…”). Conrad was never much of a trouble maker, but was constantly scolded throughout grade school for covering his school notebooks with car sketches. The automotive design career never really panned out but the passion never died. In 2022 the time was right to officially launch the Calgary Car Club!

Ward and Conrad are about a driving passion for the art and engineering of great automobiles (past & present) and the unique experience they deliver to us on the road, track, or even standing still in the garage. We are also looking for some interesting garage/club space to grow into… Do you own an interesting and suitable building that has space, you may want to accommodate the club in such a space in exchange for access to “the garage” and a set of keys?
